Not a great deal to reflect on - this is our 6th day of travel and everyone is a bit tired - but the obvious is:
- Baptism
- Temptation
- Death
- Commitment
Our Lord was baptized and then tempted immediately by Satan to turn from God versus choosing the path of death to self love and commitment to the commandments of God, the will of the Father.
This too is our path!
When we are baptized we begin to experience a life where the evil one works through temptation to turn us from a complete reliance on the Father.
The only path that will be successful is to die to all selfish desires: To let the old man die and put on Christ Who is life.
This takes willful commitment to seek and do the Father’s will in all things: Let us commit ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God!
