2/13/2020 Thursday of the Publican and Pharisee

Today, after an early morning trip to Caesarea Philippi, our focus was Lake Tiberius also known as the Sea of Galilee and it’s coastline.

Each place spoke deeply - in a miraculous way - to the person whose eyes and ears were open. For miracles happen around us at every moment but are seen only by those who are looking for them with faithful hearts.

At Caesarea Phillipi Jesus asked His disciples who do people say that I am. Then he asked his disciples but who do you say that I am? Peter answered You are the Christ the son of the living God. he said this with a faithful heart and eyes and ears that were open. We know this because Christ told him flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my father who is in heaven.

It was on the lake and places on the shore, such as Capernaum, that Christ did so many miracles, and many eyes and ears were open to see and hear them: The healing of Peter’s mother-in-law, the multiplication of loaves and fishes, walking on the water, calming the storm, the great catch of fish and revealing of himself to the disciples after the resurrection. Through all this Jesus was revealed as God to many.

May we see, hear and experience the miracle of God’s saving love in every moment and come to know the Father, as revealed by His Son, through the power of the all holy and life creating Spirit, for the salvation of our souls!
